Programs with a Fee  >>  Trees of Virginia

In the fall the Virginia Museum of Natural History (VMNH) offers “Trees of Virginia” an educational Powerpoint presentation designed to help students deepen their understanding of the plant life found at Ivy Creek, while learning about the role trees play in our everyday lives and in the overall health of our environment.

Led by a VMNH Educator, the trees program integrates life cycles, classification, and basic identification skills into an entertaining program that addresses the following Virginia SOLs:

K.1, K.2, K.4, K.6, K.8;
1.1, 1.4, 1.7, 1.8;
2.1, 2.4, 2.5, 2.7, 2.8;
3.1, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.10;
4.4, 4.5, 4.8;
